All-Star Baseball/Softball Skills Challenge 2025 - Summer 2025

Calling all young ballplayers! The All-Star Skills Challenge is a fun and competitive event designed to test your fielding, hitting, and speed.

Age Divisions:

• 7-8 years old
• 9-10 years old
• 11-12 years old
• 13-14 years old

The Challenge:

• Event 1: Fielding Frenzy: Show off your glove work! You'll field ground balls and make throws for points.
• Event 2: Power Hit: Unleash your inner slugger! Hit balls off a pitcher and aim for the fences.
• Event 3: Speed Run: Dash through an obstacle course that tests your speed and agility while running the bases.

*Participants will rotate through all events*

Location: Wallace Park Turf Fields

When: June 14th, 10am-12pm. All division welcome at any time!

Compete for glory and win awards! We'll recognize top performers and celebrate sportsmanship, effort, and improvement.

PHS Youth Soccer Camp 2025 - Summer 2025

Join the PRC and PHS Head Soccer Coach Trevor Gallagher for a fun-filled, four-day soccer camp over the summer.  Get ready to be challenged and inspired through dynamic drills, engaging games and interactive skill building!

Camp Information

• Dates: June 10th - 13th
• Ages: 3rd-8th grade.
  **Participant Grade is based upon the grade the participant is going to be in for the 2025-2026 school year**

  3rd-5th Grade: 8am - 9am
  6th-8th Grade: 9:30am - 11am

2025 Summer Archery Program - Summer 2025

Summer Archery Adventure introduces kids ages 7 to 12 to the exciting sport of archery in a safe and fun environment. Using Stick It Safe Archery Equipment, participants will learn proper shooting techniques, range safety, and target practice through hands-on instruction and engaging activities. The program will emphasize safety, skill development, and confidence-building, making this a great introduction to the sport. No experience is needed—just come ready to aim and have fun!

2025 Youth Tennis Program - Summer 2025

Summer Tennis Program for Kids (Ages 6-16)

Our summer tennis program is designed to teach and develop the fundamental skills of tennis in a fun and engaging environment. Open to kids ages 6-16, the program offers two sessions, each meeting three days a week for three weeks. Instruction is led by the head girls' tennis coach and assisted by high school tennis players. Participants will improve their technique, build confidence, and enjoy a great summer on the courts!

2025 Summer Robotics Camps - Summer 2025

Invent, Create, Innovate: STEM Camp for Young Builders!

Get ready to design, build, and program with Legos and robots to solve real-world challenges! In Session 1, campers will unleash their creativity by engineering and coding unique Lego creations.  Session 1 is specifically for kids in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

In Session 2, they’ll take innovation further by constructing and programming robots to complete exciting tasks. This hands-on camp inspires problem-solving, teamwork, and a passion for STEM in a fun, engaging environment!  The Session 2 camp is for kids in 4th-8th Grade.

Sessions are based on the grade the child will be going into for the 2025-2026 school year.

Lakemary Center/PRC To The Stars 5K Fun Run/Walk - Summer 2025

Join the Lakemary Center & the Paola Recreation Commission for the To The Stars 5K Fun Run & Walk on Saturday, June 28th!

This event is open to all ages and ability levels. Registration begins at 7:00 AM, with the 5K race starting at 8:00 AM.  Awards will follow at 9:30 AM.

The race will start and finish at Park Square, on Pearl St. Runners will run down Pearl St to Wallace Park and run through the park, incorporating the trails along with the road. They will then run back on Pearl St to finish back at Park Square. 

Register in advance for $30 per person for the 5K, which includes an event T-shirt. Lakemary Center Employee registration fee is $25. Walk-up registration will also be available on race day for $40.
