2025 Mini-Panther T-Ball (3-4 Years Old) - Summer 2025

The Mini-Panther T-Ball program is a 4-week instructional T-ball program for boys and girls ages 3 to 4 (age cutoff May 1, 2025) that introduces the fundamentals of baseball/softball in a fun and positive environment.  Emphasis will be on instruction, participation and having fun! Score/Standings will not be kept. It will be a 4-week program with teams practicing two times per week the first two weeks, and then playing a 4-game schedule the final two weeks.  All games/practices will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Wallace Park ballfields.  Teams will be coached by parent volunteers.

Each participant is required to have their own glove, pants/shorts, shoes, etc.  The PRC will provide each participant with a jersey along with some practice equipment.

Summer Tennis Program for Kids (Ages 6-16)

Our summer tennis program is designed to teach and develop the fundamental skills of tennis in a fun and engaging environment. Open to kids ages 6-16, the program offers two sessions, each meeting three days a week for three weeks. Instruction is led by the head girls' tennis coach and assisted by high school tennis players. Participants will improve their technique, build confidence, and enjoy a great summer on the courts!

Get ready to design, build, and program with Legos and robots to solve real-world challenges! In Session 1, campers will unleash their creativity by engineering and coding unique Lego creations.  Session 1 is specifically for kids in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Lakemary Center/PRC To The Stars 5K Fun Run/Walk - Summer 2025

Join the Lakemary Center & the Paola Recreation Commission for the To The Stars 5K Fun Run & Walk on Saturday, June 28th!

This event is open to all ages and ability levels. Registration begins at 7:00 AM, with the 5K race starting at 8:00 AM.  Awards will follow at 9:30 AM.

The race will start and finish at Park Square, on Pearl St. Runners will run down Pearl St to Wallace Park and run through the park, incorporating the trails along with the road. They will then run back on Pearl St to finish back at Park Square. 

Register in advance for $30 per person for the 5K, which includes an event T-shirt. Lakemary Center Employee registration fee is $25. Walk-up registration will also be available on race day for $40.

Presentational 2025 Coed Little Sluggers (5-6 Years Old) visual

2025 Coed Little Sluggers (5-6 Years Old) - Summer 2025

The Paola Recreation Commission is excited to offer a modified T-Ball program for boys and girls ages 5-6 (age cutoff is May 1, 2025) that will introduce concepts of Coach Pitch while focusing on teaching fundamental skills of the sport, teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship.  In this program, participants will be thrown three (3) pitches to put the ball in play.  If no contact is made after three (3) pitches, a batting T is brought out to hit from. 

Teams will be coached by parent volunteers with coaches selecting their practice days and times.  Teams will be allowed to practice up to two times per week before the first scheduled game.  Once games begin, teams will practice one time per week and play one game a week for the remainder of the season.  Teams will play a 6-game season.  All games will be played on Tuesday & Thursday evenings at the Wallace Park ballfields or USD 368 Baseball/Softball Complex.

Each participant is required to have their own glove, batting helmet, bat(s), baseball pants, socks and shoes.  The PRC will provide each participant with a uniform shirt and hat.  The PRC will provide teams with practice equipment.
